DNA Sexing Service
Product Description
Is your feathered friend keeping their secrets close to the chest? 🕵️♀️ Let’s solve the mystery with our DNA sexing service! No more guessing games—it's time to pluck a few feathers (literally) and get the answers.
How to collect your feather sample:
- Select 2-3 medium-sized feathers from your bird. The feather must be physically plucked—molted feathers won’t do the trick! 🚫 Feathers should be approximately 4 - 10cm long. If the feather has blood on it, take this single feather and allow it to dry before putting into a self sealing bag.
- Make sure the white bulb at the tip (where the feather was attached to the skin) is present.
- Pop those plucked beauties into a self-sealing bag, and you're ready to go!
- If you are not comfortable with the above procedure, please bring your bird in-store and our friendly staff can collect the samples for you.
How to collect a blood sample:
Our friendly staff can take a blood sample during a nail clip service or a blood sample can be taken as a stand alone service. Please bring your bird in-store and our friendly staff can collect the samples for you.
Please note:
The DNA testing is not completed by Get Flocked. We team up with a leading third-party expert to deliver fast and reliable results on our behalf. Results are expected 1 - 2 weeks.
What do you get?
An electronic copy of your bird’s official DNA Certificate, so you can finally know if you're dealing with a dashing dude or a dazzling diva! 🎉"
