Packed with flavour and goodness, each bite is bursting with the natural benefits of fresh produce, freeze-dried to preserve its nutrients and taste. Perfect for birds of all types, this healthy, high-quality treat provides a convenient and enriching snack that supports their well-being.

    Features & Benefits

    • Healthy Treat Option: This freeze-dried mix offers a low-calorie, high-fibre snack that supports your bird’s overall health and digestive function.
    • Encourages Natural Foraging Behaviour: Birds love to forage, and our Freeze-Dried Chop makes for an engaging and enriching treat that stimulates their natural instincts.
    • Supports Immune Health: Rich in antioxidants and vitamins like Vitamin C and Beta-Carotene, this blend helps boost your bird’s immune system and promotes general well-being.
    • Hydration Support (when rehydrated): When rehydrated, our Freeze-Dried Chop adds moisture to your bird's diet, helping to maintain hydration without the mess of fresh produce.

    Directions

No peeling, chopping or soaking required – just pure convenience! Serve dry for a tasty crunch or add a splash of warm water for a fresh treat in 30 seconds. You can also add it to your bird's favourite foraging toy for extra fun and enrichment. We recommend a teaspoon every few days per bird.

If you would like to make smaller pieces, use a sharp knife to cut or chop the freeze dried product.

    Ingredients

Apple, Beetroot, Broccoli, Cabbage, Capsicum, Carrot, Cauliflower, Corn, Cranberries, Cucumber, Kale, Peas, Strawberry, Zucchini.

Note: Some ingredients are seasonal and may not be present

    Approximate Weights

    Small 25g

    Large 50g

Freeze-drying removes approximately 80-90% of the water content in fruits and vegetables, significantly reducing their weight. On average, it takes 5 to 10 times the original weight of fresh produce to yield 50g of freeze-dried product, depending on the water content of the specific fruit or vegetable.

    Storage

Freeze-dried food can last up to 25 years when sealed, but for the best taste and nutrition, use within a couple of years of purchase. Once opened, try to finish within 6 months. Always reseal tightly after use. To help preserve freshness, each pack includes an oxygen absorber – please keep it out of reach of children and pets. Since moisture is the enemy of freeze-dried food, store it in a dry place to keep it at its best.

Good way to introduce new foods

We're trying to encourage our budgies to try more different foods. Freeze dried chop is a much more efficient way to do this (rather than buying a bunch of different fresh ingredient every week for them to ignore). Some of the pieces are a bit big for budgies, so we chop it up a bit more. We also mix in some of their usual favourites (leafy greens, carrot, vetafarm crumbles, quinoa) to convince them that it's definitely food. I'm pretty sure they've been eating at least some of it.

Overall, this is a really good quality product. Also, it smells delicious.
