Parrot B-Calm is a world-first pelleted diet designed to assist in the management of low-level stress and anxiety in companion parrots. Parrot B-Calm provides essential amino acids such as L-Tryptophan, as well as balanced protein, vitamins, and minerals offering balanced nutrition to fulfill core nutritional requirements.
L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid, meaning that the body cannot produce it and birds must receive L-Tryptophan from their diet. L-tryptophan is a pre-cursor for the synthesis of serotonin in the body. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, responsible for helping pass messages for mood stabilisation, sleep and appetite.
Thiamine is an essential vitamin that is not synthesized in the body. Therefore, it must be absorbed from food sources. Thiamine plays a large part in the function of the nervous system, as well as in the metabolism of energy in the body.
