Professional Services:

I acknowledge that both the wing clipping and nail trimming procedures will be performed by a qualified and experienced avian professional. I have been informed about the proper techniques, precautions, potential effects, and limitations of both procedures.

Limitations and Risks:

I understand that wing clipping is not a permanent solution, and the bird's flight feathers will grow back over time, possibly allowing short flights or gliding. I am also aware that improper nail trimming can result in injury, including bleeding or damage to the nail bed. I accept responsibility for any risks associated with these procedures and the potential temporary stress or discomfort they may cause to the bird.

Monitoring and Care:

I agree to closely monitor my bird after each procedure to ensure its well-being and will provide a safe environment to prevent accidents. I will inspect the bird’s nails regularly and seek professional help if any issues arise. Additionally, I will maintain the bird’s health with regular check-ups, a proper diet, suitable housing, and mental stimulation.

Release of Liability:

I release and discharge the avian professional and any associated parties from any liability for claims, damages, or injuries that may result from either the wing clipping or nail trimming procedures.

Alternatives and Ongoing Maintenance:

I acknowledge that alternative methods such as flight training and behavioural modification can be considered as alternatives to wing clipping. For nail maintenance, I will provide appropriate perches and substrates to minimise the need for frequent trims. I understand the importance of ongoing care for both the bird's feathers and nails to ensure its comfort and health.

Amazons (Blue Front, Lilac Crown, Yellow-naped), Alexandrine, Black Palm Cockatoos, Blue & Gold Macaws, Chattering Lori, Congo African Grey, Eclectus, Green Winged Macaws, Hyacinth Macaw, Large Amazons (Double Yellow, Yellow Nape), Medium Macaws (Red Fronted, Severe), Moluccan Cockatoos, Pionus Parrots, Scarlet Macaws, Small Cockatoos (Galah, Goffins, Lesser Sulphur, Major Mitchell), Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Timneh African Grey, Umbrella Cockatoos, Yellow Collar Macaw and similar sized birds.
